RoadDog Commemorates Fourth of July with Collector's Edition Series of Family Court Meme Posters
Sacramento Family Court watchdogs and whistleblowers have documented that the court effectively is operated by and for the Sacramento County Bar Association Family Law Section. |
Sunday Satire by RoadDog
No lie: Civics was RoadDog's favorite class in high school. The Fourth of July is the Dog's favorite holiday. In recognition of the fact that the Sacramento Family Court system is most def not like what RoadDog learned about the Judicial Branch of government in high school civics, the Dog has commissioned a special commemorative series of family court meme posters. High school civics teachers are encouraged to download, print and thumbtack the posters to the classroom bulletin board to help students gain a reality-based understanding of how the real world Judicial Branch functions.

Judge Matthew Gary claims to endorse "judicial restraint," yet routinely legislates from the bench. |
Judge Matt Gary has his courtroom in the Sacramento Family Relations Courthouse adorned with framed posters of the Founding Fathers. Click here to view a photo. In a 2007 interview with Sacramento Lawyer magazine, Matt said he admired United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, and characterized his own legal philosophy as "favoring judicial restraint." Click here.
"Judicially-restrained jurists go to great lengths to defer to the legislature," according to Wikipedia. Getting the picture? Yet court records and court reporter transcripts reveal that Matthew routinely and apparently without any self-awareness of irony - legislates from the bench.
For example, in a transcript from an illegal fee waiver hearing ordered by the judge, Matt repeatedly and unabashedly overrides the intent of the legislature. Click here, here, and here to view excerpts from the transcript memorializing Matthew assuming the role of the legislature. Click here to view the amazing, complete reporter's transcript.
Matt proudly wears his intellectual dishonesty as a badge of honor, a common trait of Evangelical ideologues. One clue to psychoanalyzing the judge's dual personality may be found in the not entirely surprising revelation that - as was recently disclosed by a family court whistleblower - Matt detests what he refers to as the "entitlement mentality" of indigent, unrepresented family court litigants who obtain fee waiver orders.

This family court judge (center) has just told a joke that was not funny. |
The photo at right was taken at a monthly luncheon held by the Sacramento County Bar Association Family Law Section. At the center of the photo is a Sacramento Family Court judge who attended to get a free lunch.
The judge is surrounded by attorneys from the SCBA Family Law Executive Committee. The judge has just told a joke that was not funny, according to a Sacramento Family Court News reporter who was there, and shot this photo immediately after delivery of the punchline.

Attorney Lollie Roberts is the supervising family law facilitator for Sacramento County. |
The Sacramento County Superior Court Office of the Family Law Facilitator is known for dispensing inaccurate information to unrepresented, financially disadvantaged litigants who the facilitator and her staff are paid by taxpayers to assist gain meaningful access to family court. Click here.
Coincidentally, the erroneous info dispensed by the Facilitator's Office benefits family law attorneys who are members of the Sacramento County Bar Association Family Law Section. Supervising Family Law Facilitator Lollie Roberts attends, coincidentally, the monthly meetings between court administrators, judges and the SCBA Family Law Executive Committee, where family court policies and procedures are dictated by private-sector lawyers and rubber-stamped by court officials on behalf of the public.
And Lollie always buys a new dress to wear to the annual Family Law Bar Holiday Luncheon, featuring the "Judge's Choir," made up, coincidentally, of family law judges and former family law judges, including appellate Justice Ronald Robie. Lollie also reportedly has her heart set on being named a court commissioner, which, coincidentally, requires her to ingratiate herself with the Family Law Bar. RoadDog sez: That's a lot of coinkydinks.

As reported exclusively by SFCN, Divorce Corp, a scathing, full-length documentary film about family court corruption produced by Joseph Sorge and Candor Entertainment reportedly will include a Sacramento Family Court case study. The film "exposes the corrupt and collusive industry of family law in the United States," according to a plot summary posted at the Independent Movie Database. A local case will be prominently featured in the movie, according to a person with direct knowledge of the project but not authorized to speak on the record. According to the storyline posted at IMDb:
Divorce Corp exposes the corrupt and collusive industry of family law in the United States. While the system is intended to effect marital dissolution, it instead escalates and prolongs the conflict. Judges tout 'the best interests of the child standard' as their rationale for using children to extort families with limited assets to feed an increasingly voracious corps of lawyers and experts. The tabloids are full of epic divorce battles of the ultra wealthy, but the middle class are truly the grist for the mill. Divorce, now cited as the number four cause of bankruptcy in the US, has become a $50 billion a year industry that often destroys family ties in its wake.RoadDog humbly submits for consideration by the Divorce Corp. promotional team, the following movie poster:
