Court Employee Misconduct: Family Court Whistleblower Emily Gallup Describes Family Court Employee Incompetence, Corruption in Divorce Corp Documentary

Divorce Corp Movie Features Interview with Family Court Whistleblower Emily Gallup and Sacramento Family Court Demonstration

In this excerpt from the documentary Divorce Corp, family court employee-turned- whistleblower Emily Gallup recounts her unsettling experience attempting to report misconduct by her Nevada County Family Court coworkers to the state Judicial Council Administrative Office of the Courts. Gallup concludes the interview by describing her realization as a court employee that the people she assumed were disgruntled litigants - angry that they had lost in court - were in fact not disgruntled litigants. Gallup ultimately concluded that their anger was justified because court users were subjected to misconduct and mistreatment by court employees, who were not, and could not be held accountable by anyone, including the state Judicial Council and AOC.
"I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that no one is holding them accountable for their actions. They've done a lot of damage to this community," Gallup said about her coworkers in the family court system. "At the time I thought 'well, yeah, half the people who've been through here don't like us because they didn't get what they wanted.' I realize now, no, that's not the problem. The problem is [court employees] were disrespecting people and they knew it."
A protest demonstration at Sacramento Family Court is shown at the end of the clip. In 2012, a Sacramento County Superior Court jury awarded Gallup $313,206 in her lawsuit against Nevada County Superior Court and court employees for civil rights violations, whistleblower retaliation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and other grounds. Judge Peter McBrien Misconduct, Vindictive Personality Catalogued on Big Screen

Movie Review and Opinion by PelicanBriefed

It is now difficult to dispute that the Sacramento County Family Court system - rebuilt more than 20 years ago to the specifications of local judge pro tem family law attorneys by Judge Peter McBrien, then-Judge Vance Raye, divorce attorney Robert O'Hair, and others - has become the most corrupt family court in the nation.

The proof is now available to anyone for $20: the cost of the documentary film Divorce Corp, recently released on DVD, and also available by download at the iTunes store. In his first, full-length documentary film, director Joe Sorge meticulously documents the epidemic of corruption and collusion in family courts throughout the United States. And the Sacramento County system rises to the top of the toxic slurry pond.

Andy Furillo Sacramento Bee Court Reporter - RoadDog Sunday Funnies

Sacramento Bee Reporter Andy Furillo and Beloved Anchor Ron Burgundy - Separated at Birth?

Sunday Satire by RoadDog

Dateline February 15, 2013:
"Furillo has a history of avoiding or whitewashing coverage of corrupt judges, court officials and lawyers in exchange for insider access and courthouse story leads. He writes over 200 stories a year, and you can't do that kind of volume without an army of sources," said family court watchdog Ulf Carlsson. "It's unethical but he gets away with it because his wife, Deb Anderluh, is one of his bosses at the Bee. Furillo was going to bury the Appelblatt story until the T.V. stations made it public and he had to write something, so he portrayed Appelblatt as just a rogue attorney, and covered up his status as a judge pro tem," Carlsson asserted. "Look at the [court whistleblower] Emily Gallup case. Furillo ignored the Gallup lawsuit - including the week-long trial and $313,000 verdict - which went on for more than a year in Sacramento County Superior Court. The government did not want that case in the news, and Furillo made sure it wasn't." The national family law website, familylawcourts.com also has called out the Bee and its reporters for protecting judges by refusing to identify them in its rare coverage of controversial cases.
